Dominic Severini Memorial

The Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in Clinton Township, Michigan, had a committed patron and promoter of the arts in Dominic Severini, a member of their Board of Trustees. He was a local businessman who, in his earlier years toured with the Glenn Miller orchestra as their pianist. Janice was commissioned to create an original sculpture as a memorial to Severini. The contemporary glass panels allowed for a work appropriately sized for Severini’s accomplishments, while not overpowering the limited space available. The bronze bas reliefs adorning the glass panels include representations of the performing arts as well as a portrait of Severini. The curved bronze base is etched with a musical score authored by Severini.
